REBECCA BLACK REACTING TO ‘FRIDAY’

That’ll teach us to judge

Hehehehe also she looks really pretty

O Media.

Thank you so much for your due diligence that was absent during the run up to the war in Iraq and the rollout of Medicare D, but is there for every incarnation of this website that you do not even have to use since you can always pick up the phone to get Obamacare savings.

And thank you for putting in writing that you are only capable of definitively reporting that the website is in crisis and that it is “difficult” to determine if it is working.

So now people who are determined to spread the meme that a malfunctioning website is a disaster that is more disastrous than millions of people going bankrupt or dying without insurance can continue to do so.

Because you know, there’s no way to tell if the website is working or not, because if people say the site is working that is just anecdotal and if the government says it is working that’s just propaganda.

Since it’s too “difficult” to prove Obamacare is working, there’s no other narrative available for the media to report other than Obamacare is in crisis.

Next you’ll be choking on my dingly-dangly-diddly-ding-dong.image

Thanks go out to Tumblr’r K for sourcing this, so the brilliant person who created it gets some credit.

I’m not an artist, but I have more than a few friends who are, so I thought this might be a good thing to post.

I used to do freelance illustration and gd, this is sound advice.
No free work and get paid on signing the contract. Otherwise they will take ur shit and never pay you.
Never send anything in to be ‘chosen’ unless it’s a comp. If u send any work in they must pay you for it even if they decide they’re ‘not going to use it after all’.

These are real snowflakes, photographed by Alexey Kljatov with a macro lens. Truly beautiful stuff in this collection. As a bonus, he’s posted high-res versions too, and they’re all free to download. [flickr]

I’m furious with pro-ana people ripping out quotes from Wintergirls and posting them to help others starve themselves. Isolating a line from a book that distorts the meaning of that book is obscene. That’s what book censors do.
Stop that shit now.
Anorexia is the most fatal of all mental illnesses. There is nothing empowering or cute or sexy about it. It’s a disease that kills, ruins lives, and ravages families. I wrote Wintergirls to show the horrifying damage of the disease, and how people struggling with it can reach for help and hope.
A lot of pro-ana people feel lost and depressed and lonely. I understand those feelings. Been there, lived that. They think they’ve found a community that will support them. I understand that, too. But listen up: people who truly support you don’t want you dead.
I don’t care what your body size is. I care about the health of your body and of your soul. I want you to feel supported and loved and valued. I want you to be strong enough to claim your place in the world, and to make the world even better.
Help me reach out to people who are trapped in their eating disorders. Help me reach out to the pro-ana community with love and show them other communities that can help them through rough times.
Let’s stop buying into the bullshit fed to us by media empires and fashion designers and other corporate overlords. Let’s stop hating on each other for the size of our thighs or our butts.
It’s the size of your heart that matters.
PS:  To those saying that being against pro-ana is another form of body hate: it’s not. I’m against smoking meth and shooting heroin for the same reasons - they are addictive dangerous behaviors that kill people.
What do you think?

"Well, when I was nine years old Star Trek came on, I looked at it and I went screaming through the house, 'Come here, mum, everybody, come quick, come quick, there's a black lady on television and she ain't no maid!' I knew right then and there I could be anything I wanted to be.”— Whoopi Goldberg

Hey, how come we never talk about Charles Addams?

I barely ever see compilations of his work for sale.

I barely ever see his cartoons being blogged.

His tumblr tag is sparse as hell.

So many people have no idea that the Addams Family began as recurring characters in what was basically "The Far Side" of the 1940’s and 50’s.

He invented the Addams Family and he barely gets any credit.

And seventy years later his jokes feel as fresh and sharp as ever.
